Mashup Camp

We had a good time at mashup. For me the highlight was a pow-wow of WSFinder, Programmable Web, and StrikeIron trying to figure out how to replace UDDI/WSDL with something simple and easy.

We kept saying, "lets keep this at the Yahoo directory level of complexity". Our proposal is a really simple "API RSS" that has 5 or 6 fields in it. This is about discovery and brief description, not implementation etc. This is just so a developer knows how and where to look for a list of APIs to mashup.

Check out this from Chris Law, the other half of WSFinder.

Update

Its been a while since I have posted. The new API keep flowing in though. New stuff in Payment processing, always more stuff in maps, and some new additions in other categories as well. We are near 150 APIs and many have been user added. That is the whole point of this being a wiki!

The reason that commentary from the blog is a bit infrequent is that Chris Law and I are just about ready to launch our new company: Aggregate Knowledge. We are sponsors for both the eTail conference next week in Palm Springs and the eTech conference the first week of March in San Diego.

We will formally be launching the company at that conference. We will keep you posted.
